OECD iLibrary

The OECD iLibrary is the global knowledge base for OECD's data and analysis. It contains all books and papers published since 1998, as well as a vast collection of statistics, with data going back to the early 1960s and often covering more than 80 countries. Users can search and click directly to chapters, articles, books, tables, databases and more. These content items are available in different formats and languages. As one of the most comprehensive online resources on the world economy, society, education and environment, the OECD iLibrary is a powerful tool for people working at academic institutions, in the private sector, and at governmental or non-governmental organisations.

OECD iLibrary Themes

The new OECD iLibrary platform, launched in July 2014, includes the following updates and improvements:

  1. A brand new navigation bar, available across all pages, is improving access to Country and Theme information.
  2. A new function, available from the same navigation bar, allows the user to do multiple selections across Theme and Country indexes.
  3. The "Catalogue" function still gives access to the entries by category, books, papers, statistics, factbook, and glossaries.
  4. From search result pages, a new "narrow your search" function allows users to filter search results with multiple criteria including additional key words, dates, and content type.
  5. Database pages now display "companion tables" from relevant publications, which show user the full ranges of services available in their subscription package.
  6. Dataset pages will also show a "data preview" in HTML, allowing users to visualise what data is included in each dataset.
  7. Indicators from the OECD data portal are also available from the OECD iLibrary, replacing Key tables which remain but will no longer be updated.

As of March 2016, the OECD iLibrary comprises:

  • 17 Social Science Subjects
  • 2,099 Journal Issues
  • 4,919 Working Papers
  • 10,513 eBooks
  • 58,361 Articles, Chapters and Summaries

The Commonwealth iLibrary

The Commonwealth Secretariat's publications are a key part of the organisation's mission to work as a trusted partner for all Commonwealth people as a force for peace, democracy, equality and good governance; a catalyst for global consensus-building; and a source of assistance for sustainable development and poverty eradication.

Every year, The Commonwealth publishes around 30 new titles on a range of topics in which it has particular insight and expertise, especially concerning small states, including;

  • globalisation and multilateral trade issues
  • export and enterprise development
  • education
  • gender
  • public service management and reform
  • law and human rights

For the first time, these publications are now available online in a single research repository, The Commonwealth iLibrary. Titles are organised by series, year and alphabetically, and search and discovery of complete publications or even their components - articles and chapters - is a click away. The content is accessible in different formats, PDF and READ, to meet users' needs, the latter optimised for reading on mobile devices and sharing via social networks.
